How to Add an Shape to an Existing Report Template

As with any tutorial it is always recommended to read through the tutorial first, and then perform the steps of the tutorial.

 

 

In this tutorial we will go through the steps to customize the AVERY 5386  Label report template that we created in a previous tutorial by adding a Star shape to it.

 

It is  recommended that you first review the Report Designer Features topic and the preceding report tutorials before proceeding if you have not yet done so

 

1.In Addressinator!, click on the menu item File, then click on Report Designer to open the Report Designer screen

 

2.Select menu File -> Open and select to open the AVERY 5386 Label report template that we made in a previous tutorial

3.Select the ToolBox tab on the lower left hand side

4.Place your mouse over the Shape control, click and drag onto the design panel below the AFIRSTNAME and ALASTNAME datafields that are already on this design panel

5.Select the Properties tab on the lower left hand side

6.Drop down the list of shapes for the Shape property

7.Select 5-Point Star

 

8.Expand the Size property

 

9.Edit the Height property to 75

 

10.click on the Width property (as soon as you move off of the Height property, the new Height of 75 is applied)

11.Edit the BorderWidth property to 0

 

12.Click on Preview so that you can see how this now looks on your report template.

 

13.You can save your report template by select File -> Save

 

14.Exit out of the Report Designer by selecting File -> Exit

 

Congratulations! You just completed adding a shape to a report template.
